I've been to many conferences, church services and home groups where the Holy Spirit begins to move, and some people get so intoxicated in the anointing while others just don't receive anything. Why is it that some people are so sensitive to the Holy Spirit and others don't even recognize His presence? I'm going to share how any Holy Spirit filled believer could become more sensitive to Him, hear His voice and discern His leading.
The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is so essential for our walk with God, and it's been a long time since I've heard anyone talk about this subject. Ever since I gave my life to Jesus I've practiced "praying in the spirit." In a nutshell I got addicted to enjoying the Presence of God! Turning on some worship music I would engage with God in my heart by just praying in tongues. My heart was connected to the Father in such an intimate way that nothing compared to the simplicity of being with Him. Today I still enjoy that same blessing. When you find the reality of His Presence for your life personally - you always know where to turn! it's never a thought to go anywhere else. Our God is good, and He is the best!
As the tensions in the world continue to increase around us, many Christians are abandoning their faith, no longer attending church, or staying plugged into any community. Agendas of fear are running rampant across the world, and many are succumbing to the pressures mounting around them. This is an hour of history like no other, with missionaries leaving the field due to lack of funding and thousands of churches shutting their doors. As the bride of Christ, when the fire starts getting hot, we need to get hotter. The trials are real, the pain, the sorrow - it is all real. It is what we do from those places that matters the most. I believe in this time we can glean a lot from the book of Ruth.
Do you sometimes feel as though your thoughts are a tornado swirling in your mind? One thought pulls another negative thought into the scene, and then damage begins to surface. The good news is that God can silence the chaos, and freedom is the result. Jesus died and rose so that you and I could walk in peace, joy, and freedom. We do not have to succumb to the thoughts that enter our minds. We can choose what we are going to think about.
For God may speak in one way, or in another, yet man does not perceive it. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls upon men, while slumbering on their beds, then He opens the ears of men, and seals their instruction. In order to turn man from his deed and conceal pride from man. Job 33:14-17 NKJV God will speak to you even if you do not perceive it or understand. He can conceal revelation from your natural mind to keep you from getting prideful. God is often sealing our instructions even though we are not aware.
Recently as my team and I were in worship, there was a convergence in the spiritual realm, and the glory of God was present. I could see this big mass of prophetic insights coming together. The convergence consisted of information that the Lord had been revealing to me and the new impartation He was giving me at that moment. I could see in the atmosphere bits and pieces of information coming from all directions and forming together. There were new insights the Lord revealed as He gave me the finality of revelation the Spirit of the Lord had been imparting to me.
Proverbs 29:18 from some different versions...
ISV - Without prophetic vision, people abandon restraint, but those who obey the Law are happy.
JUB - Without prophetic vision, the people shall perish, but he that keeps the law is blessed.
KJV - Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
LEB - When there is no prophecy, the people cast off restraint, but as for he who guards instruction, happiness is his.
TLB - Where there is ignorance of God, crime runs wild; but what a wonderful thing it is for a nation to know and keep his laws.
Do you want to be happy - I mean, really happy? I believe that deep down we all want to be happy and enjoy our lives. We can spend a lot of time and energy trying to do things that will make us happy, but our own efforts will never truly satisfy us. That's because God doesn't want our minds to be on ourselves all the time. He wants us to look past the things that are happening in our own lives and reach out to others and bless them. Because when our focus is on ourselves, we usually end up feeling sorry for ourselves and get caught up in self-pity.
When spiritual warfare starts, servants beat themselves up. Attacks from the enemy result in strained relationships, rejection, loss of finances, health problems, confusion, etc. Servants immediately conclude God is judging them, and they must have opened a door with sin in their life. Last night I had a dream. There was a tiny sliver in the back of my hand that was hard to see and stuck so tightly I couldn't pull it out for days. Finally, I got a clear view and pulled it out with some difficulty. When I woke up, I asked the Lord what it meant.
Growing up, I had one primary prayer request: my mother's healing from her emotional illness. As early as I can remember, this request topped every prayer list I ever made. It was the subject of every spoken and unspoken prayer request in church and Sunday school, the thing Grandma and I prayed for each time I spent the weekend with her, and what Dad prayed for every night. With this much prayer going up on her behalf, I knew one day God might just get fed up with hearing her name and answer our prayers, so we'd all move on to something else.
