Churches have been on lockdown for months. COVID-19 forced us to go virtual, and the pandemic has turned pastors into awkward television evangelists who preach to empty auditoriums using smartphones. Now, more than six months after the shutdown, some congregations are reopening—with masks, social distancing and even temperature checks. Instead of hearing a worship leader say, "Turn to the person next to you and give them a hug!" we have learned to smile and bump elbows—or maybe not. We also have noticed that a large percentage of church members haven't returned.
God spoke to me that He is releasing His UNSTOPPABLE blessing and breakthrough over your life. No demon, no person, no circumstance is going to be able to stop the plan and purpose of God for your life. When Joseph was betrayed by his brothers in the bible and sold into slavery, it looked like they were stopping or hindering the dream and call of God on Joseph's life.
I hear the Spirit of the Lord saying, "It is your time to release your ROAR! I have placed a message on the inside of you for this season, and now it must burst through the noise in the world. I have called you for such a time as this! Rise up in My glory and release what I have placed inside of you! No one can stop you except yourself!" When a lion roars, the ground begins to shake! You can feel the authority that a lion possesses. He is the king of the jungle. His enemies and subjects tremble in fear. "So it shall be with you says the Lord." You will roar and the nations will shake.
To overthrow or be overthrown, to prevail or be prevailed against, what will it be, this is the question. In seeking the Lord regarding the contrast of revelation between the power, the authority and the glory, or the judgment, I felt the Lord say to me, "I want you to see and understand both sides of the sword that is poised to strike." Most of my words are didactic in nature, as I seek to understand and to bring foundation, scope and understanding to the revelations given. This is what I understood: As the spirit of lawlessness and rebellion roams the streets, it will easily entrap the independent and rebellious in heart.
"Look at the nations and watch—and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told." Habakkuk 1:5 NIV The Lord is going to bring about some surprising changes starting this month that will unfold over the months to come. He has not forgotten you and is now moving behind the scenes to bring things into place for a breakthrough in the midst of the storm. The key to this is to stay at peace and trust. Watch for the Lord to answer prayers and bring breakthroughs. He has been sustaining you, but now you are going to get an infusion of hope, strength, peace and power! Ministering angels are being released to help people get a new wind of the Spirit!
No matter how long you may live, you'll never stop learning. Every minute of every day brings new opportunities to learn something we've never known before. And as long as we're open to receive, God will continue to teach us every day. I'm still learning, and I know I always will be. What God teaches me every day about love continues to change my life. I've come to the place where I can honestly say, "Lord, eliminate everything in my life that's holding me back. Please take away anything that's keeping me from walking in love and finding true fulfillment in my life." In other words: "Lord, reduce me to love—bring me to a state or condition of walking in love completely!"
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11 I can still remember what happened when I visited a lady from my congregation in the hospital. Heather had suffered a stroke that completely paralyzed the left side of her body. As I prayed for her, she lifted her right hand in a gesture of prayer. Amazingly, her left hand followed suit, albeit slowly. This was something that she had been unable to do following the stroke. By the grace of God, she was beginning to experience healing in her body, with sensations starting to seep back into her left arm.
I have driven on many third world countries in my time. South Africa is one of these which I happen to often visit. Without fault every time I have been in a car at some stage of my visit, I have had to experience the impact that the regular power cuts have on the traffic signals in this nation. I remember last time I was there when once again while having to endure along with everyone else another blackout, I noticed something that I had never seen before when I came to a non-working traffic light. There is never an accident when the lights are not working whereas when they are working correctly there are plenty. How can this be? Well here is what my heart showed me.
We need God's wisdom more than anything else right now. This ability to perceive things spiritually through the Holy Spirit is called the gift of discernment. The gift of discernment, words of knowledge, discerning of spirits and the gift of wisdom are some of the most underestimated gifts from God. These incredible gifts utilize the senses, power and wisdom of the Holy Spirit and go way beyond our natural abilities. Back when I was seeking God's wisdom for something specific in my life, I went to Proverbs 1 and saw the word "Proverbs" turn into the word "Pro-verbs." I heard the Lord say, "I want you to look at the verbs in Proverbs 1 because I'm going to do something." I found some hidden gems about God's wisdom in the Book of Proverbs that are important in this season.
Maximus the Confessor (A.D. 580-662) was a Christian theologian, a monk, and an adviser to Constantinople. He taught about "interior freedom," which could only be experienced by those "who can close their eyes to the fault of a friend" (George Berhold, Maximus the Confessor: Selected Writings, 86). Nothing hurts quite like the betrayal of a friend. We assume someone has our back and then find out they've been talking about us behind our backs. Or we assume our friendship is strong, and suddenly things change and we receive a cold shoulder. Some offenses are big and others small, but when we take offense, they hurt just the same. We walk away feeling wounded.
